Intervention Psychiatry Medical Assistant

We are seeking a well-qualified medical assistant to assist our providers who support our patient’s mental health needs.

As a medical assistant, you will be responsible for assisting physicians/providers with patient care, rooming patients, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks (i.e. follow-up and chart management). The medical assistant provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the practice services and operate in a manner that is aligned with Mood Insitute’s values and vision providing evidence-based patient centered care.

Responsibilities include but not limited to

  • Perform patient care responsibilities as assigned.
  • Perform administrative responsibilities as assigned.
  • Send/receive patient medical records and inputs new patient records into EHR
  • Perform environmental responsibilities as assigned.
  • Sets up instruments and equipment according to treatment protocol.
  • Perform other related organizational duties as assigned
  • Maintain patient autonomy, confidentiality and dignity.
  • May assist and/or perform chaperone duties for patient medical procedures as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited medical assistant certificate program.*
  • Certification/Registration (CCMA/CMA/AAMA/RMA) preferred.
  • Certification/Registration may be accepted in lieu of graduation from an accredited MA school.
  • Associate (Required) or similar experience
  • Minimum of 2 years private practice/hospital clinical medical assistant experience preferred in a primary care or specialist office. Clinical rotations during training do not count towards experience
  • Medical Assisting Certification preferred.

Special Skills

  • Excellent, organizational, communication, customer service and teamwork skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task is essential.
  • EMR experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications required.
  • CPR/BLS certification preferred.
  • Core philosophy or values consistent with a patient-centered approach to care.
  • Demonstrate professional and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as tactful nonverbal interactions. Engage with patients, families, medical staff, colleagues, vendors, and various departments seamlessly across the continuum of care.
